IRU and TransFollow webinar: The future of digital logistics: Spain's approaching legislation change and what it means for the rest of Europe ahead of eFTI

Digital transformation among transport operators and shippers is gaining momentum and is becoming the crucial backbone for efficient, compliant and profitable logistics across Europe and beyond.
At the core of this shift is eCMR, the digital equivalent of CMR. As a key building block of the Electronic Freight Transport Information (eFTI) framework, eCMR will enable seamless, paperless data exchange between operators, shippers and authorities. Spain is leading the way. From 5 October 2026, its electronic administrative control document, DeCA (Documento de Control Administrativo), became mandatory for domestic road freight operations.
As the first country to enforce binding digital documentation ahead of EU-wide eFTI rules, Spain offers a preview of what's coming next, and a clear signal that the digital shift is a matter of “when”, not “if”. What are the key lessons from the past year and how can we prepare for what’s ahead?
Join us to explore:
- How prepared are Spanish and European companies for the new DeCA requirement?
- Is Spain's legislation pushing European companies to see digitalisation as a strategic investment or just another rule to comply with?
- How can companies digitalising their operations driven by Spain’s new legislation benefit from that investment?
- What does it take – practically and in investment – to get ahead of the wider shift towards mandatory digital documentation across Europe?
